JENNER'S CORNER PARK

Public BBQ

Jenner's Corner Park sits prettily along the Tweed River with Mt Warning looming majestically in the distance - though you'll spend half your time shooing away brazenly opportunistic seagulls who've clearly mistaken your fish and chips for their personal buffet. The free barbecues and gazebos make for a splendid riverside lunch spot, and you can cast a line for bream while waiting for your snags to sizzle. It's one of those wonderfully unpretentious places where families gather to watch the gentle river flow, though do note there's a conspicuous absence of toilet facilities - clearly the council's subtle way of encouraging brisk visits. The nearby fish and chip shop and Chinderah Pub ensure you won't go hungry or thirsty, making this a perfect spot for a proper Australian riverside break.
